The Code Enforcement Program's goal is voluntary compliance with applicable State RCW's and City Municipal Codes; all of which are intended to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public and our community. In those instances where voluntary compliance is not attained, civil and criminal penalties may result.
The Code Enforcement Officer deals primarily with the accumulation of junk/debris, overgrown vegetation, graffiti abatement, and other hazardous health and safety issues. The Code Enforcement Officer works closely with uniformed Patrol Officers who assist with routine code violations, allowing the Code Enforcement Officer to devote resources to large projects or those posing an imminent danger to the public.
Citizens should report all code violations to the Police Department by simply contacting Dispatch's non-emergency phone number at 509.527.1960.
For code violation questions, citizens may contact the Code Enforcement Officer at the Walla Walla Police Department 509.527.4434.
