What is CDBG?
In 2014, the City began receiving an annual allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
This program provides grants for neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing, and/or to improve community facilities and services. All projects and programs must principally benefit low-and moderate-income persons.
City of Walla Walla’s 5-yr average allocation is $394,909 and varies year to year.

Applying for CDBG 2025 Funds

- Please note that Public Service grants are capped at 15% of annual allotment, or approximately $58,000.
- Eligibility includes:
- Benefitting residents within the City of Walla Walla
- Nonprofits, for profits, government entities
- Must meet a National Objective, which includes serving low- and moderate- income individuals or low- and moderate- income areas.
