About Our Team

Vicki Ruley and Wanda Galland are the Crime Victim Advocates for Walla Walla County and have offices at the Walla Walla Police Department. They have specialized training in senior fraud, exploitation, and identity theft issues. They have also completed a training program through the Washington Coalition of Crime Victim Advocates and as such are able to:

  • Respond to emotional and physical needs of victims of crime
  • Assist victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system
  • Provide victims of crime with a measure of immediate safety and security
  • Assist with the completion of no contact and/or anti-harassment orders (not Domestic Violence)

The primary unmet need within Walla Walla County is the identification and response to victims of crime in those categories which are separate from domestic violence and/or sexual assault. In Walla Walla County, we are seeing ever increasing numbers of elderly victims of fraud (scams), theft, elder financial exploitation, and identity theft. This will be a primary area of focus, although the advocates will also be able to assist victims of assaults, robbery, other violent crimes, elder abuse/exploitation, and survivors of homicide victims. We work closely with state and county organizations to assure that victims obtain the help they need.
