The Starfish Academy Swim Lesson Program has completed for the 2024 Summer Season. Check back May 2025 for details about the 2025 Season. Registration for the 2025 Season will OPEN Monday, May 12.
The Starfish Swimming curriculum is designed for students ages 6-months to adult. Benchmarks are established at each stage in the program that combine both swimming and safety skills.
Students participate in experiential learning activities that allow them to explore the water in a creative and comfortable environment. Correct swimming techniques are taught from the very beginning, providing an easy transition to the recreational swim team.
Programs
Three different programs are available for specific ages and ability levels.
StarBabies & StarTots
- Ages 6 months to 2.99 years
- 1 SAI Instructor: 10 Parent/Guardian & Child
- Parent/Guardian & Child participate together in the Leisure Lagoon
The purpose of this course is to foster in very young children a high comfort level in the water while at the same time training parents and caregivers in water safety and drowning prevention. This course does NOT teach children to become accomplished swimmers or to survive in the water; it does provide a confidence-building, fun, and loving experience.

- Lesson Length = 30 minutes

Five Morning Class Rotations
- 8:50 a.m.- 9:20 a.m.
- 9:25 a.m.- 9:55 a.m.
- 10:00 a.m.- 10:30 a.m.
- 10:35 a.m.- 11:05 a.m.
- 11:10 a.m.- 11:40 a.m.
- ** NEW Saturday OR Sunday classes held from 8:25 a.m.- 8:55 a.m. OR 9:00 a.m.- 9:30 a.m.
Two Evening Class Rotations
- 6:45 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
- 7:20 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.
Starfish Swim School
- Beginning Swimming
- Ages 3+
- 1 SAI Instructor: 5 children
- Child participates with trained SAI Instructor in either the Leisure Lagoon or Big Pool shallow end areas
Students work toward development of the five core swimming competencies and receive color stage awards for each achievement. The color stages are used to divide students into broad ability groups. Children progress at individual rates with the opportunity to learn the core swimming skills and progress to advanced strokes. Water safety and drowning prevention are also incorporated into each color stage to help promote the safest swimmers possible.
Registration is an easy process, simply register for the Swim School Rotation time that works best for you and your learning swimmer.
At the end of the registration process you will be asked questions about your swimmer’s ability. Your answers will be used to help instructors sort your swimmer into the appropriate color level for the first day of Swim School.
You will find out your learning swimmer’s color level upon arrival to the first day of Swim School. A brief assessment will also be given at the beginning of the first day to verify a color level match has been made to help ensure your learning swimmer’s success.

Starfish Stroke School
- Intermediate Swimming
- Ages 5+
- 1 SAI Instructor: 6 children
- Child participates with trained SAI Instructor in the Big Pool
Students work to refine freestyle and learn stroke technique for backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, and more. The color stages are used to divide students into broad ability groups. Children progress at individual rates with the goal of proficiency in each of the 4 swimming strokes and promotion to the recreational swimming team if desired. Water safety and drowning prevention continue to be incorporated into each color stage to help promote the safest swimmers possible.
