Administrative Policy 

View the City of Walla Walla's Administrative Policy 2012-3, which provides uniform guidance regarding the use of social media for the programs and services of the City of Walla Walla.

Posting Policy for Social Network Services Sites

The City of Walla Walla encourages posts and comments. All City of Walla Walla social media accounts are Limited Public Forums. Prior to posting comments on these Limited Public Forums, users must review and agree to the Terms of Service of the social media platform (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Nextdoor, etc.) and also the Terms of Use of the City of Walla Walla.

A submitted comment or posting on these pages shall constitute an acknowledgement and agreement of these Terms of Use. All posted content (comments, photos, links, etc.) must be related to the topic at hand. Posts and comments that fall into the following categories are prohibited:

  • Not topically relevant
  • Promoting or advertising commercial services, entities, or products
  • Supporting or opposing political candidates or ballot propositions
  • Obscene
  • Insults
  • Personal attacks
  • Name calling
  • Infringements on copyrights or trademarks
  • Illegal activity or encouragement of illegal activity
  • Promoting, fostering, or perpetuating discrimination on the basis of creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation
  • Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems
  • Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party
  • Anonymous

The City of Walla Walla reserves the right to remove or hide posts or comments that do not comply with this policy. Posts and comments on the City of Walla Walla social media pages will be reviewed regularly. The City of Walla Walla is not responsible for any postings or comments deemed inappropriate that cannot be removed in a timely fashion. All posts and comments are public records subject to public disclosure under the Public Records Act.

The posts and comments on the City of Walla Walla social media pages do not necessarily reflect the opinions or positions of the City of Walla Walla or its employees.
