  1. ALL persons above the age of TWO entering the pool area must pay an admission fee OR hold a season pass, this includes non-swimmers
  2. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied/supervised by an adult.
    • Adult must be in swim attire at all times.
    • Adult must be in the pool with the child at all times AND within arm’s length.
    • 1 adult can be responsible for a maximum of 10 children.
  3. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied/supervised by a responsible individual of at least 16 years of age at all times
    • RATIONALE = Younger children must have supervision while at the pool in case of emergency. Also, having adult supervision at the pool decreases the chance of a child having a traumatic near-drowning experience.
  4. Food and drink are NOT allowed on the pool deck and must be kept within the designated areas.
    • Signs will indicate where patrons can and cannot eat/drink.
    • RATIONALE = Spilled food, drink, and trash compromise the chemical balance of the pool water.
  5. NO alcohol and NO drugs are allowed in the facility.
    • Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or exhibiting erratic behavior, shall not be permitted in the facility and risk being trespassed for the season.
    • RATIONALE = Swimming while under the influence of substances is very dangerous and can result in a severe medical injury.
  6. NO smoking and NO vapor devices are allowed in the facility.
  7. NO weapons are allowed in the facility.
  8. NO glass and NO breakable items are allowed in the facility.      
    • RATIONALE = Broken glass in the water is impossible to see and results in having to drain and fully sweep the entirety of the pool.
  9. NO pets are allowed in the facility.
    • Support animals who have proper documentation can enter the facility but are NOT allowed to enter the pool at any time.
    • RATIONALE = Dirt, dead skin, and body oils from the animal can introduce phosphates and elevate the pH balance of the water, causing cloudiness, skin rashes and scale on pool equipment. In addition, animal fur can carry contaminants like fecal matter or parasites and introduce such to the water.
  10. NO personal tents and NO personal shade structures are allowed in the facility.
    • RATIONALE = Large structures can interfere with surveillance of the facility. 
  11. NO use of cell phones, cameras, or other recording devices when in the locker room area.
    • RATIONALE = Taking pictures or video in a public restroom in Washington State is prohibited by the law.
  12. NO heavyNO rigid, and/or NO sharp toys are allowed in the facility.
    • Soft, inflatable, and foam toys are acceptable, but cannot threaten the safety of others.
    • RATIONALE = These types of toys are not allowed because they tend to get thrown around the pool and hit people, causing injury and damage. 
  13. NO air filled personal floatation devices/PFDs are allowed in the facility.
    • RATIONALE = Flotation devices encourage unsafe behavior, create a false sense of security, and generally increase risks to non-swimmers. Unapproved flotation devices are NOT meant for lifesaving and are simply toys. They are often cheaply made and may fail.
  14. NO rafts, NO innertubes, and NO boat-like floatation devices are allowed in the facility 
    • RATIONALE = Rafts, innertubes, and floatation devices interfere with lifeguards' ability to see the bottom of the pool where distressed swimmers might be.
  15. ONLY Coast Guard approved personal flotation devices/PFDs are allowed in the facility.      
    • Any patron using a PFD must have a responsible adult within arm's length when in the pool.
    • RATIONALE = Any flotation devices that are NOT Coast Guard approved means that they are not accepted as a life saving devices.
  16. Water resistant swim diapers AND waterproof swimwear must be worn by children/adults who are unable to independently use the toilet.      
    • ALL waterproof diapers must be covered by appropriate waterproof swimwear.
    • Swimmers CANNOT only wear a swim diaper. 
    • RATIONALE = Regular diapers fill with water and fall apart inside the pool, leaving contaminants that can hurt the water and filtration system.
  17. Diapers must be changed in the locker rooms.
  18. Persons with skin disease, communicable disease, open sores, or rashes should not use the pool facility.
    • RATIONALE = If you are sick, you should stay home so that you do not get others sick.
  19. Lifeguards will enforce ALL safety rules and respond to ALL emergencies.
  20. NO solicitation of third-party material or information is allowed in the facility.
