Area residents are invited to join design engineers and City staff to see the conceptual design for the renovated 1st Avenue Plaza, ask questions, and share feedback.
In 2022, 1st Avenue Plaza will become a permanent public gathering space. With input from a variety of stakeholders, engineers are proposing an accessible, comfortable, and flexible space with a variety of amenities.
The design process involved representatives from Tamástslikt Cultural Institute and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. With their input, the new plaza is designed to characterize and tell a story about the culture of the Valley's indigenous peoples, and to celebrate Walla Walla's connection to water.
